Go to 0870 for alternative landline numbers for 0800, 0808, 0844, 0845, 0870 and 0871 numbers. Speak to surprised people at land line rates rather than disappear expensively into call routing systems peopled by Daleks and accompanied by a selection of the classics adapted for the doorbell

I know the technique, but until now I didn't know most of the actual 'geographical' rate numbers. I have added this to my browser favourites.
