Post here if you have found a way to bypass a Call Centre's menu system and get straight through to a human. Perhaps you have a phone number which gets you straight through to the right department. Share other hints and tips to help get avoid the frustrations of dealing with Call Centres.

Have you received a lot of phone calls which when you pick up, you leave you with static or a dead line tone ?
Some Sales oriented Call Centres operate a system which pre-dials several numbers at a time, and puts the Operator through to the person who happens to have just answered at that instant. All of the other numbers called are simply cut-of. If they didn't get hold of you the first time, they will try again, probably at 3:30 AM. How can we stop this ? Share your thoughts here.

Are you for or against overseas Call Centres ?
Globalisation means that some Call Centres are now abroad where costs are significantly lower than here. This should mean that companies can offer better service for less money, but it doesn't always work that way. Often these Call Centres are staffed by polite, highly educated people who want to help, but since English is not usually thier first langauge and they don't come from the same cultural background as us, they don't always understand what we are asking for.

Fed up with cold phone callers ? Have you just had a call from a recorded anouncement offering to sell you a time-share in Florida ? Perhaps your bank called you and offered to 'take you through security', and only then revealed that they actually wanted to sell you some insurance ?!? Tell us who called you - and shame them into giving up !

Most people get most calls almost for free these days, except for so called Non-Geographic numbers (in the UK these are the numbers which start with 087....). If you call one of these, you end up getting charged the earth, and the people you are calling get most of the money. Is this a reasonable way to provide service ? Is there an alternative ?
